St Boswells AmDrams

Chair: Christine Lawrie (01835 823377)
Secretary: Anne Greig
Treasurer: Anna Assing.

St Boswells AmDrams were founded as St Boswells Drama Club in 1950 by George N Harvie, then Primary School Headmaster and the first Director of the Club, and who went on to support the Club until 2017, when he died aged 99.”

Annual productions were performed for 3 evenings for 62 consecutive years from 1951 until 2012 inclusive, with only 1 play ever repeated – “The Blue Goose” in 1971 and 1994. Occasionally, other productions (such as the pantomime “Cinderella Revisited” and sketches, poetry and songs) were performed at social events.

Lack of actors has unfortunately resulted in no plays being performed since 2013 but the Club has continued to meet socially once a month on Thursdays throughout each winter, hopefully until such time as more players come forward. If interested or for more information, please contact Christine Lawrie.

Plays, prose and poetry can be brought to the social winter meetings which each have a different subject for discussion – topics so far have included Candles, Chocolate, Chords/Cords, Eildon Rings/Hills, (Sounds like) Greess, Lavender, Monsters, Nature, Pirates, Planets, Potatoes, Russia (with Love), Silver, Spirits, Spring, Storms, Summer Holidays, The Brassiere, Travels, Trees, Wine.....

Dates for the rest of the season:
13th December 2018, 24th January 2019, 21st February, 21st March, 18th April all starting at 7.30pm in St Boswells Village Hall’s Upper Room
