St Boswells Village Week Committee Meeting Minutes 24th March 2016

Meeting information:
Date: Thursday 24th March 2016 Time: 7.30pm Location: St Boswells Village Hall/Lesser Hall.

Village Week 2016 Proposed Schedule:
Day 1 – Saturday 4th June
• Coffee Morning and Plant sale to be held in church Hall by St Boswells Parish Church from 10am
• Family Tennis Fun Day & BBQ
• St Boswells Live Music Showcase 7.30pm

Day 2 – Sunday 5th June
• Car Boot Sale on the Green (Tennis club)
• Family Golf Fun Day 2.30 – 5pm

Day 3 – Monday 6th June
• Nursery entertainment in the Village Hall 10.30 – 12.30 £3 including lunch bag
• Free slot Monday afternoon - Suzan to ask Imogen Payne if she’d like it for Zumba/Piyo.

Day 4 – Tuesday 7th June
• Guided Walk – 6.30pm with John Wood to Wallace Monument

Day 5 – Wednesday 8th June
• Car Treasure Hunt from 6pm ending at village Hall. £5 per car

Day 6 – Thursday 9th June
• Afternoon Tea in the Village Hall
• Beat the Retreat – 6pm Pipe band booked
• Boswells Got Talent – 7 – 9.30pm. Rehearsals will be held after school on Friday 3rd June. £3 per Adult, £2 per child.

Day 7 – Friday 10th June
• Lunch Club in Church Hall
• Family Football

Day 8 – Saturday 11th June
• Coffee Morning in Village Hall to be held by Pensioners Social Club from 9.30am
• Pet Show on The Green with Cake and Candy stall held by Nursery 11am
• Climb on board a fire engine 11am
• Fancy Dress Parade 3pm with piper to pipe to hall for results 3.45pm
• Family Disco – Noon entertainment 4pm

Day 9 – Sunday 12th June
• Church Service on The Croft 10.45am with coffee in the Church Hall at 11.45am
• Traditional Potted Sports – Nursery will do tuck shop, face painting etc 2pm
• Village Race – Cat will contact Judith about this 4pm
• Family Rounders at Cricket Club – Doug Folan to organise and format 6pm

Any Other Business:
It was brought to attention that the Cameron Gunn Football Tournament at Netherdale will clash with the Family Golf fun Day. A lot of boys from the Village will be involved in the tournament.

It was proposed that the Saturday night’s Wine Man’s Bluff be held at a later date, possibly sometime in the autumn.

Cat will ask Eric Marshall if it is possible to get stabs and rope for Beat the Retreat which can also be used for the Pet Show.

Suzan to ask Sheila about chairs and Cross for the Sunday Service.

Mikes Military Mayhem can’t do the Sunday so we will got back to original potted sports. Cat to see about bales etc.

Dawn-Carol will organise medals for pet show and Village Race and contact Kirsten to see how many medals needed for the pet show. Burnett has kindly offered to put the medals onto the ribbon before the events.

Cat will add slots onto the list for parent helpers to put up and take down bunting and flags around the Village. Flags to go up Saturday 28th May at 5pm and come down Monday 13th June 6pm.

Dawn-Carol to update Blackboard during village Week.

Suzan will find out about marquee and ask Judith about the banner.

Date and Time for next meeting: Thursday 5th May 7.30pm.
