Bookshop, Café & Gifts
Based in the beautiful Scottish Borders village of St Boswells (just off the A68), we are passionate about books, coffee and the pleasure of shopping for beautiful things.
The bookshop is the heart of the shop, with over 5,000 titles in stock. We believe that reading should start from the earliest possible age, so our children’s section is particularly important to the shop. That said, we cater for readers of all ages and tastes, and if you can’t find what you’re looking for we can order it from a range of over 750,000 titles for next day delivery. We run author events at the shop and at outside venues, recent successes include Michael Morpurgo and Kate Adie (both in association with the Borders Book Festival) and Neil Gaiman.
The food in the café is simple and delicious - really good coffee, tea(s), cakes (pretty and tasty), soup of the day and a choice of freshly made sandwiches. Our gift department ranges from traditional wooden toys and cashmere knitted baby shoes, to stylish desk lamps and spotted teapots. This is complimented by our antiques concession run by Diana Muir Antiques of Stow.
Our website will be launching in the spring at The Mainstreet Trading Company Bookshop, in the meantime, the holding page lists our contact details and opening hours.
